Project Description
The following project is a concept piece that presents the conscious competence learning model to new hires at a fictional instructional design company, Obelisk Training Corp. The new hires are millennial in age (20-34). The presentation is 3 minutes in length and would be played within a conference room that occupied no more than 30 people in the seating area, on a 16:9 projector screen, with a workspace in the back. The presentation utilizes motion graphics, cut scenes, strong contrasts, and on-screen text to gain and hold the attention of viewers.
Instructional Video
Video footage was shot in front of green screen to allow for flexibility in choosing background imagery and placing the aesthetics of the presentation within the genre of instructional videos typically seen on Lynda.com
Company Logo
A logo for the fictional company was created to further communicate the personality and tone of the presentation.
Logo Reveal
An accompanying logo bump was created to increase the professionalism and compete with the instructional videos used as inspiration.
Creative Process
Several on screen graphics solutions were explored before deciding on one that provided the most opportunity for movement, contrast, and hierarchy. Since the model uses certain words repetitively, using different colored frames helps focus and isolate differentiation.
